9th International Conference on Management Studies and Social Sciences (9th MASOS)
A remarkable event has occurred!
The 9th International Conference on Management Studies and Social Sciences (9th MASOS) was successfully held on November 5, 2024. Organized by the Research Synergy Foundation, in collaboration with Universitas Islam Bandung, this fully virtual conference centered on the theme “Adapting Management Practices for a Changing Social Landscape.” The 9th MASOS provided a vibrant platform for researchers, lecturers, students, practitioners, and academicians to exchange ideas, present research findings, and discuss current trends across various fields of management and social sciences.
The conference began with a welcome address by Dr. Handri, S.E., M.M., the Conference Chair from Universitas Islam Bandung, followed by an opening speech by Prof. Dr. Nunung Nurhayati, S.E., M.Si., Ak., CA., CTT., Dean of the Faculty of Economics and Business at Universitas Islam Bandung. A presentation on the Global Research Ecosystem by Santi Rahmawati, M.S.M., Founder and Director of the Global Network at Research Synergy Foundation, further emphasized the importance of fostering impactful global research collaborations.
A Lively Virtual Conference
Participants from various countries joined the conference seamlessly via the Zoom platform. The event began with the playing of the national anthem, "Indonesia Raya," followed by an e-group photo session, which set a ceremonial tone for the event. The plenary sessions featured two distinguished keynote speakers:
- Dr. Veronica Sarcino-Almase, Campus Director at the Polytechnic University of the Philippines - Ragay Campus, who shared valuable insights on modern management practices.
Dr. Soliha Sanusi from Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia, who delivered a thought-provoking session on the role of sustainable development in social sciences.
Academic Presentation Sessions and Session Chair
The academic presentation sessions provided a platform for in-depth discussions on various topics in management studies and social sciences. These sessions were moderated by the esteemed session chair, Dr. Rovena I. Dellova, from Lyceum of the Philippines University. Researchers presented their findings on topics ranging from organizational fit, employee performance, and green skills development, to the influence of store image and customer values on purchase intention.

The best presentations and best papers were celebrated for their exceptional quality and contributions to the advancement of management studies and social sciences.

The best presentation category was nominated based on professionalism, the organization of the presentation, the visual quality of the slides, and the handling of questions, as evaluated by the session chair. The winners included:

The best paper category was decided based on the following criteria:
1. Submission of the full paper on time,
2. Ethical considerations, including passing plagiarism checks and citation appropriateness,
3. Minimal or no revisions during the review process,
4. Alignment with the required format/template,
5. Novelty of the content, and
6. Contribution to academic, practical, and societal domains.

Closing and Recognition
The event concluded with an awarding ceremony, which celebrated the achievements of the session chair, best presenters, and the best paper awardees. This was followed by a closing speech by Dr. Handri, S.E., M.M., the Conference Chair. The 9th MASOS successfully fostered interdisciplinary collaboration and provided an engaging platform for discussions on adapting management practices in today’s changing social landscape.
