A remarkable event has occurred!

The Jakarta International Conference on Research Innovation and Sustainable Development 2024 (JICRISD 2024) was successfully held on December 5, 2024. Organized by the Universitas Pembangunan Nasional Veteran Jakarta (UPN Veteran Jakarta), in collaboration with the Research Synergy Foundation, this fully virtual conference centered on the theme "Fostering Sustainable Innovation for Future Development." JICRISD 2024 brought together a diverse range of participants to discuss various fields such as economics, environmental sciences, social sciences, and engineering.

The conference began with a welcome address by Sri Lestari Wahyuningroem, M.A., Ph.D., Head of the Institute of Research and Community Service at UPN Veteran Jakarta, followed by an opening speech from Dr. Anter Venus, Drs., M.A.Comm., Rector of UPN Veteran Jakarta. A presentation on the Global Research Ecosystem by Dr. Hendrati Dwi Mulyaningsih, Co-Conference Chair and Chairperson of the Research Synergy Foundation, further highlighted the conference's vision of fostering impactful research collaborations.

A Seamless Virtual Conference
Participants from various countries joined seamlessly via the Zoom platform. The day opened with the national anthem, "Indonesia Raya," and the patriotic hymn, "Bela Negara." The plenary keynote speaker, Prof. Dr. Jomo Kwame Sundaram from Khazanah Research Institute, Malaysia, delivered an insightful session, followed by presentations from invited speakers including Dr. Óscar Ugarteche (Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México, Mexico), Dr. Agustinus Prasetyantoko (Atma Jaya Institute of Public Policy, Indonesia), and Fachru Nofrian, Ph.D. (UPN Veteran Jakarta).

Parallel Presentation Sessions and Session Chairs
The academic parallel presentation sessions, held in the main room and breakout rooms, were moderated by esteemed session chairs:
- Main Room: Dr. Saddam A. Hazaea (Southwestern University of Finance and Economics, China)
- Breakout Room 1: Gs. Ts. Dr. Alexius Korom (Universiti Teknologi MARA, Malaysia)
- Breakout Room 2: Dr. Rishirl Cuario (National University - Manila, Philippines)
- Breakout Room 3: Dr. Amarjit Kene (SVERI's College of Engineering, Pandharpur, India)

These sessions provided an opportunity for researchers to share their findings and engage in meaningful discussions, contributing to the advancement of sustainable development and innovation.

Best Presentation and Best Paper Awards
The conference celebrated outstanding contributions with Best Presentation Awards and a Best Paper Award, recognizing exceptional quality and innovation in research.

Best Presentation Awards
The best presentation category was nominated based on the professionalism, the organization of the presentation, the visuals of the presentation, and the handling of questions, as evaluated by the Session Chairs throughout the presentations. The winners were:
- Main Room: Sarah Widyana Putri
- Breakout Room 1: Ishfihana Hafny
- Breakout Room 2: Rovena I. Dellova
- Breakout Room 3: Benedictus Adityo Imanuel Kurnia

Best Paper Award
Meanwhile, the best paper award category was decided based on these criteria:
1. Submission of the full paper on time,
2. Ethical considerations: passing plagiarism checks and ensuring citation appropriateness,
3. No revision (Accepted) or only minor revisions during the review process,
4. Alignment with the required format/template,
5. Novelty of the content,
6. Contribution and impact on academic, practical, and societal domains.

The winner of the Best Paper Award was:
- Akbar Gunawan

Closing and Recognition
The event concluded with a recognition ceremony celebrating the achievements of the session chairs, best presenters, and best paper awardees. Dr. Dianwicaksih Arieftiara, S.E., Ak., M.Ak., CA., CSRS, the Conference Chair, delivered the closing remarks, emphasizing the importance of interdisciplinary collaboration for fostering sustainable innovation. JICRISD 2024 successfully served as a vibrant platform for researchers to share knowledge, network, and contribute to the global advancement of sustainable development.
