The International Conference on Sustainable Mobility and Safety (IC-SMS)

A remarkable event has occurred!

The International Conference on Sustainable Mobility and Safety (IC-SMS) – was an outstanding event held on November 29 -30 , 2022. This International Conference is a collaboration between Polytechnic of Road Transportation Safety (PKTJ)  and Research Synergy Foundation (RSF) was held in Bali  and on virtual platform. This conference has given a chance to increase knowledge among researchers found ideas for further research, and found new research and collaboration opportunities.

This event was held in two days and both on-site and virtual conference has been a great success. Participants and audiences who attended came from various countries, such as Indonesia, Pakistan, Malaysia, Japan, Germany and many more.

All researchers, scholars, and colleagues participated in the discussions and exchanged ideas at the scientific conference. This conference theme is to  This year, the conference brought up the theme of “Safe and Sustainable Transportation” and aimed strengthen technology, industry, and business research from basic for share their thought and findings in various spectrum of Safe and Sustainable Transportation.

In this conference, we discuss and shares research on Transportation Engineering, Transportation Management, Sustainable Transportation, Multimodal Transportation, Logistic, Transportation Safety, Autonomous vehicles, Autonomous vehicles, Education and campaign on Transportation Safety, Rail Transportation, Public Transportation, Marine Transportation, Inland Waterways Transport, Transport Planning and Policy Formulation, Port Management, and Transportation Modelling.

Day-1 (November 29 , 2022)

The opening ceremony on Day 1 of IC-SMS  was opened by a welcoming remarks from Director of Polytechnic of Road Transportation Safety (PKTJ), Indonesia given by I Made Suartika, A.TD., M.Eng., Sc..

 

Keynote Speaker Session 1

The First keynote speaker session is Dr. Eng. Aam Muharam, M.T. as a Head of Research Center for transportation Technology, Indonesia.

 

Next, Dr. Ir. Djoko Sasono, M.Sc. (Eng) as the Head of Human Resources Development Agency on Transportation, Indonesia from the Bali  delivered the inauguration address for the event.

Keynote Speaker Session 2

The next keynote speaker session is  Professor Kerry Brown from Edith Cowan University, Australia. He shared topics about “Managing Transport System Sustainability and Risks in the Context of Connected and Autonomous Vehicles (CAVs)”

Keynote Speaker Session 3

The next keynote speaker session is  Professor Patrick Wheeler from A University of Nottingham, United Kingdom. He shared topics about ” Sustainable Transport – Electric Vehicle”

Keynote Speaker Session 4

The next keynote speaker session is  P Dr. Siti Maimunah, S.Si, M.S.E., M.A. from Head of Education Division at Human Resource Development Center of Land Transportation, Indonesia. He shared topics about “Multimodal Transportation”.

 

After this there is discussion session with the Keynote Speaker. The questions came from both on-site and virtual attendees also from the presenters attended on-site. The discussion went lively as questions were asked and answered directly on site.

After the discussion session, the closing speech was given by Drs. Nahduddin, M.Sc. as a Head of Human Resources Development Center on Land Transportation, Indonesia.

The last session of today was Mini Workshop of “Preparing Research Article for F1000research (Scopus Q1) and Cogent OA journals (Scopus Q1/Q2) Publication” by the Trainers: Dr. Hendrati Dwi Mulyaningsih & Santi Rahmawati, MSM. as a F1000 Gateway Advisor, and Taylor & Francis Open Access Advisor.

Day-2 (November 30 , 2022)

On the second day of the IC-SMS , the first agenda of the day is Welcome Remarks of IC-SMS Day 2 by I Made Suartika, A.TD., M.Eng., Sc. as a Director of Polytechnic of Road Transportation Safety (PKTJ), Indonesia.

 

Oral Presentation – Day 2, First Session On-Site and Virtual

On the second day there is oral academic presentation, the hybrid conference began. On site at Bali , there were presenters ready to present their researches, and on the virtual platform, there were also presenters located in different countries and location ready to present and have a decent academic discussion. The virtual conference also divided into two breakout rooms which were the Breakout Room 1 and Breakout Room 2, and break into two session. The second day of oral academic presentation session was opened by Mrs. Santi Rahmawati. She welcomed all presenters and participants in this virtual room and hopes that they can actively participate in today’s session.

There were presenters on site and on virtual platform, making this discussion a lively one with questions and answer from both platforms of the conference.

Oral Academic Presentation – Day 2, Second Session

After the lunch break, all presenters and attendees both on-site and virtual were back to continue the Oral Presentation.

In the Breakout Room, the Oral Presentation on the second day was moderated by Session Chair:

There were presenters on-site and also on the virtual platform. The discussion went well for the hybrid discussion and questions were coming from participants and attendees in both platform.

The last session of the conference, awarding certificates to the best presenter, and best paper. This selection is given based on the assessment of the session chairs in charge of oral presentation.

At the end of second day, closing speech and conference resolution was given by Sugianto, A.TD., M.M. as the Conference Chair IC-SMS 2022 and The 1st Deputy Director of Polytechnic of Road Transportation Safety (PKTJ), Indonesia

IC-SMS  2022 conference was held successfully in two days. With this hybrid meeting, it is hoped that all participants will gain valuable knowledge, and collaboration will be formed to continue research so that it is more developed.
