9th International Conference on Interdisciplinary Business, Economy, Management, and Social Studies (9th IBEMS)
Day 1 – July 3, 2025
The 9th International Conference on Interdisciplinary Business, Economy, Management, and Social Studies (9th IBEMS) has been successfully held on July 3-4, 2025. This conference was organized collaboratively by Business Management Network Institute, Polytechnic University of the Philippines, and Research Synergy Foundation. It was co-hosted by the Master of Accounting Program, Faculty of Economics and Business, Universitas Islam Bandung (UNISBA), and PERBANAS Institute. The hybrid conference took place at Curtin University, Perth, Australia, and was also accessible virtually through an online platform. The conference theme was “Interdisciplinary Innovations: Shaping Sustainable Futures in Business, Economy, and Society”, featuring 15 multidisciplinary tracks presented by 56 participants from various countries.
The first day began with welcoming remarks from Dr. Tuwanku Aria Auliandri, S.E., M.Sc. (Head of BMN Institute, Universitas Airlangga, Indonesia),
followed by an opening speech delivered by Dr. Anna Ruby P. Gapasin (Vice President for Research, Extension, and Development, Polytechnic University of the Philippines).
Subsequently, Dr. Hendrati Dwi Mulyaningsih (Founder & CEO of Research Synergy Foundation) introduced the Global Research Ecosystem, and an MoU signing ceremony took place involving the organizing institutions.
The conference then proceeded with two keynote speeches: the first by Dian Ekowati, Ph.D. (Head of University Planning and Development Board, Universitas Airlangga, Indonesia) discussing "FROM SILOS TO SYNERGY: Governing Interdisciplinary Knowledge through Interorganizational Networks in a Fragmented World"
and the second by Prof. Veronica Sarcino-Almase, DBA (Campus Director, Polytechnic University of Philippines Ragay Camarines Sur), presenting insights on BUILDING INCLUSIVE INNOVATION ECOSYSTEMS for Sustainable Communities.
Day 1 also featured Academic Parallel Presentation Sessions divided into two separate sessions, each held in two parallel split rooms. During the first session, presentations and discussions were moderated by Session Chairs Dr. Leilidyn Zurbano (Polytechnic University of the Philippines Lopez, Quezon Branch) in Split Room 1 and Prof. Veronica Sarcino-Almase, DBA (Polytechnic University of Philippines Ragay Camarines Sur) in Split Room 2. In the second session, parallel presentations continued with Dr. Tuwanku Aria Auliandri (Universitas Airlangga, Indonesia) together with Prof. Veronica Sarcino-Almase chairing Split Room 1, and Dr. Adelia Roadilla (Polytechnic University of the Philippines Mulanay) chairing Split Room 2
Towards the end of the first day, an awarding ceremony recognized outstanding presenters and papers.
Awarding Session
Following a short break to prepare for the awarding session and closing ceremony, the MC announced the recipients of the Best Presentation and Best Paper awards, along with the recognition of Session Chairs. A total of nine presenters were recognized as Best Presenters during the 9th IBEMS.
The Best Presentation category was evaluated based on professionalism, clarity, organization of the presentation, visual aids, and ability to handle questions effectively, as assessed by Session Chairs throughout the presentations.

Meanwhile, the Best Paper award category was decided upon these criteria:
- Submitting the Full Paper with the time,
- No notes in ethical consideration: Pass the plagiarism checking, citation appropriateness
- No Revision (Accepted) or only having Minor Revision in the previous review during submission
- Format/ template alignment,
- novelty of the content,
- academic, practical, and societal contribution or the impact
In the 9th IBEMS, there were three Best Paper awardees:

Day 2 – July 4, 2025
The second day of the conference began with welcoming remarks from Dr. Tuwanku Aria Auliandri, S.E., M.Sc., continuing the momentum of the event.
Two distinguished keynote speakers shared valuable insights. Dr. Yeo Sook Fern (Director, Centre of Excellence for Business Innovation and Communication, Multimedia University, Malaysia) delivered a keynote on “From Idea to Impact: Crafting Research Proposals that drive Sustainable Innovation”
This was followed by a presentation by Dr. Prameshwara Anggahegari (Research Centre for Cooperative, Corporation, and People's Economy, National Research and Innovation Agency, Indonesia), focusing on "Gendered Innovations for Sustainability: Understanding how female social entrepreneurs building inclusive green economics"
Day 2 continued with comprehensive Academic Parallel Presentation Sessions conducted entirely online, organized into two sessions. In the first session, held in the Main Room, the presentations under the Management track were chaired by Prof. Maryann H. Lanuza (City College of Calamba, Philippines) covering Track Management.
In the second session, presentations were divided into three breakout rooms:
Main Room, chaired by Dr. Arbia Hlali (Taibah University, Saudi Arabia), covering tracks in Entrepreneurship, Business, Accounting, Organization Development, and Islamic Studies.
Breakout Room 1, chaired by Prof. Rajini G. (Vels Institute of Science, Technology & Advanced Studies, Chennai, India), covering tracks in Humanities, Economics, and Human Resources Management.
Breakout Room 2, co-chaired by Dr. Najafi Auwalu Ibrahim (Bayero University Kano, Nigeria) and Mr. Loeurt To (RMIT, Australia), covering tracks in Business, Sustainability Studies, and Management.
These structured sessions provided a focused and engaging discussion environment, allowing researchers from various disciplines to present their latest findings effectively
The conference concluded with an awarding session announcing the Best Presenters and Best Papers. The recipients of the Best Presenter awards included:

- Irvin Perono (Lyceum of the Philippines University - Manila)
The Best Paper awards were given to the following outstanding papers:
- “Advancing the Understanding of Employee Performance: A Recent Systematic Literature Review Using PRISMA” by Maryadi, Hamidah Nayati Utami, Arik Prasetya, and Benny Hutahayan (Brawijaya University, Indonesia).
Closing remarks for the second day and the conference overall were delivered by Prof. Veronica Sarcino-Almase, DBA (Polytechnic University of Philippines Ragay Camarines Sur, Philippines).
The 9th IBEMS successfully provided a dynamic platform for knowledge exchange, networking opportunities, and interdisciplinary collaboration among scholars and researchers worldwide.
