From Theory to Practice: Intensive Class Multiple Linear Regression Batch October 2024
The Intensive Class on Multiple Linear Regression was successfully held on October 29, 30, 31, 2024. The event was officially opened by Ms. Ani Wahyu Rachmawati, S.Psi., M.S.M., Director of the Research Synergy Institute. During the opening session, Ms. Ani emphasized the importance of advanced statistical techniques, such as multiple linear regression, in data-driven decision-making and research. The class provided participants with in-depth knowledge and practical skills, bridging the gap between theory and application in real-world data analysis.
The first session of the Intensive Class on Multiple Linear Regression was held on October 29, 2024, and was led by Gita Hindrawati, S.Tr.M., M.S.M. In this session, Ms. Gita provided an insightful introduction to multiple linear regression, covering its core concepts and practical applications. The session also included hands-on training on setting up data in SPSS, ensuring participants gained a solid understanding of how to organize and prepare data for analysis. Additionally, key topics such as the validity and reliability of data, as well as the classical assumptions underlying regression analysis, were thoroughly discussed. This session laid the groundwork for the more advanced topics to be covered in the following days, ensuring a strong theoretical and practical foundation for all participants.
The second session of the Intensive Class on Multiple Linear Regression took place on October 30, 2024, and focused on essential topics related to data treatment and regression analysis. Participants were introduced to various data treatment techniques, including how to handle missing data, outliers, and ensure data quality before analysis. The session then moved on to Simple Regression, where the foundational principles of one-variable regression analysis were explained, providing participants with a clear understanding of how to model the relationship between two variables. Finally, the class explored Multiple Regression, where the complexity of analyzing multiple predictors in a single model was discussed. Practical examples and hands-on exercises helped participants gain a deeper understanding of these techniques and how to apply them in real-world data analysis scenarios.
The third and final session of the Intensive Class on Multiple Linear Regression was held on October 31, 2024, and focused on advanced analytical techniques and the essential elements of reporting. The session began with an in-depth exploration of Path Analysis, where participants learned how to model complex relationships between multiple variables and understand direct and indirect effects within a system. This was followed by a discussion on Moderation Analysis, where the role of moderator variables in influencing the strength or direction of relationships between independent and dependent variables was thoroughly examined. To wrap up the class, the session included an overview of Reporting Guidelines, providing participants with valuable insights on how to effectively present their analysis results. Key aspects of statistical reporting, such as clarity, transparency, and proper interpretation of findings, were emphasized to ensure participants could communicate their research with precision and professionalism.
