The 3rd Japan International Business and Management Research Conference (JIBM) was held at Listel Hotel Shinjuku On March 25, 2019. The conference was attended by 10 participants from several countries, namely Malaysia, Thailand, Korea, Nigeria, and Ghana. During the conference, participants exchanged their views on different fields, such as Business administration, public administration, and management.
The conference was opened by welcome remarks from conference chair who also as the founder of the Research Synergy Foundation, Dr. Hendrati Dwi Mulyaningsih. She not only warmly welcomed to all participants but explained in detail related to Research Synergy Foundation.
During the conference, the participants presented their researches according to their respective research areas. The first presenter is Dr. Johanim Johari from Universiti Utara Malaysia. Her study is analyzing the influence of job characteristics on the well-being of public servants. She showed that feedback and task identity aspects positively impacted on employee well-being and 34.1% of the variance that explained the employee well-being was accounted for by the different job characteristics.
Another presenter is Mr. Joshua Akinlolu Olayinka from Prince of Songkla University, Thailand. He is conducting a study about the importance of the institutional environment for spillover in developing countries. His meta-analysis study showed that a better institutional environment encourages heterogeneity of MNEs in the host country and brings about a higher level of technology spillover leading to improve the productivity of the domestic firms.
Dr. Patcharin Phrarat from Silpakorn University, Thailand conducted a study to examine the influences of exposure and attitudes towards YouTubers’ product advertising on customer behavior. The study found that cognitive attitude and the affective attitude towards product advertising affected consumer behavior while the behavioral attitude did not affect at all at statically significant. Meanwhile, her colleague Dr. Noppanon Homsud and their students Ms. Walrapa Promduang and Ms. Atikan Tassanaaree also presented their research results on different topics.
All participants were not only presented their research results but also actively discussed by giving each other feedback and comments, exploring opportunities for research collaboration and partnership, as well as enriching each other’s knowledge by learning different methodology from various research areas. The conference ended with the distribution of conference’s certificates, group photo and having lunch together.
