The International Seminar on System Dynamics (30-31/3/21)- had called scholars, researchers, and colleagues to exchange ideas about research results in system dynamic approach. The event was successfully held virtually on March 30-31, 2021. The ISYSDYN a collaboration conference program between Asosiasi Ahli Sistem Dinamik Indonesia (ASDI) and Research Synergy Foundation (RSF). This conference aims to provide opportunities for scholars and practitioners in presenting conceptual and empirical findings regarding “System Dynamics Approach”.
ISYSDYN conference was held in two days. The conference was attended by 246 participants from various country, the participants from: Indonesia, Singapore, Iran, Nigeria, India, Pakistan, Afghanistan, UK, Malaysia, Philippines, Bangladesh, Morocco, Azerbaijan and China.
DAY 1 – held on March 30, 2021
The conference opened with greetings from Dr. Irman Firmansyah, M.Si. as Conference chair of ISYSDYN. He welcoming all participant of the ISYSDYN Conferece.
Next agenda is Opening Speech by Prof. Dr. Ir. H. Rokhmin Dahuri, MS. (CCMRS – IPB University; Advisory Board of ASDI) and Ir. Medrilzam, M.Prof.Econ, Ph.D. (Director for the Environment – BAPPENAS). They gave a very excited opening before starting the conference.
Next Session is introduction about The Global Research Ecosystem was delivered by Dr. Hendrati Dwi Mulyaningsih as Co-Conference chair of ISYSDYN.
Then continue to Keynote Speech session, first keynote speaker is Dr. Seyed Hossein Hosseini from Model-Based Management Systems Institute (SAMAM). He delivered keynote speech about “Sustainability and the Need for Business Model Transformation”.
The second keynote speaker is Dr. Anthuela Anthi Tako from Loughborough University, UK. She delivered keynote speech about “Using Systems Mapping Tools to Support Multi-Stakeholder Decision Making Group”.
Finally the highlight of the main event began, during an virtual presentation session guided by Associate Professor Dr. Teck Chai Lau from University of Southampton, Malaysia, UK. Dr. Lau as Session Chair of the first day’s ISYSDYN Conference. Track Social Science and Economic Development were two types of tracks from all paper presented on the first day of the conference.
In the closing ceremony, there are announcement for participants who received the Best Paper and Best Presentation. Best papers were chosen by scientific committee of reviewers who had read the research previously.
The Best paper is: Arzyana Sunkar – IPB University, with research entitled “An In-depth Analysis of Indonesia Illegal Wildlife Trade Mechanism”.
Best Presentations were chosen by the session chair in charge of presentation sessions. They assess each participants presentation based on the evaluation form.

The conference on the first day was closed with a closing speech by Dr. Regina Deti, SE., M.M
DAY 2 – held on March 31, 2021
The second day of the conference opened by Dr. Chaterina Agusta Paulus, M.Si. She welcoming all participant in the forum. The next is keynote speech session. First keynote speaker is Dr. Ir Hartrisari Hardjomidjodjo, DEA from Biotrop, IPB University, Indonesia. She delivered keynote speech about “Spatial Dynamic Modeling for Increasing the Competitiveness of SMEs (Case Study: Bogor City)”.
And second Keynote Speaker is Dr. John P. Ansah from National University of Singapore. He delivered keynote speech about “Modelling to Inform Sustainable Health Policy”.
Main event began on the second day conference, Dr. Lim Xin Jean from Xiamen University, Malaysia as session chair for guide virtual presentation. This presentation were divided into 6 tracks. There are Track Animal Husbandry (Animal Science), Track Industrial Engineering, Track Transportation, Track Management, Track Tourism And Hospitality, and Track Environment.
At the end of conference, there were is announcement of Best Paper and Best Presentation.
The Best paper is: Lenny Yusrini – IPB University and Akademi Pariwisata Indonesia, with research entitled “Towards Sustainability: A Causal Loop Diagram Approach for Biodiversity-based Tourism Village Development”.
The Best Presentation are:
1. Dr. Dino Rimantho – Pancasila University, with research entitled “Model of the Potential Risk of Failure of Sustainable Solid Waste Management at the University: A Dynamic Systems Approach”.
2. Samadi – Universitas Negeri Jakarta, with research entitled “An Environmental Monitoring System for the Availability of Drinking Water for the Population as an Ecosystem Service in Areas Exposed to Covid-19”.
The conference was held successfully in two days, hopefully this ISYSDYN Conference 2021 will give all participants great beneficial to improve their research. Even though the Covid-19 pandemic still exists, with this virtual conference it can continue to increase enthusiasm for knowledge sharing, but also, provide a wider network and research ecosystem for further collaboration and projects.
